The Dr Blake Mysteries

When he’s not trying to solve the mystery of a longtime patient’s recurring cough or prescribing the right ointment for an irritating rash, Dr Lucien Blake is assisting the local constabulary to solve mysteries of the murderous kind. Solving the seemingly unsolvable, you should always bet on Blake!

“Yes… how very curious… well, we’ll know more after the autopsy.”

Now that’s something we’d expect Doctor Lucien Blake to say to a young police Constable while surveying what initially appears to be the scene of a suspicious death. Or perhaps he might utter something along those lines to himself as he meticulously goes about piecing elements of the scene together in his mind.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries, I’m proud to say has proven to be one of the world’s most popular ‘murder mystery’ television dramas. It’s even listed in the encyclopedic tome ‘1001 TV Shows You Must Watch Before You Die’. No kidding, that walloping big book actually exists and it’s a must have for any TV aficionado!

And… I’m not kidding when I say, the years I spent playing Dr Lucien Blake were the most creatively satisfying, challenging (in a good way) and joyous years of my professional performing life.
