Yarram Lights Up as Six String Stories Welcomes Vanessa Scammell
What an incredible night in Yarram. After over a year of touring Six String Stories, having Vanessa join me on stage has been a dream, and performing in her hometown made it extra special. For Vanessa, it was a homecoming, and for me, sharing the stage with her and experiencing the love of her community was unforgettable.
The crowd was amazing. Despite rain, hail, and floods, people packed the historic Regent Theatre, some travelling all the way from Adelaide. The energy in the room was electric. Dave and I gave our all with the six-string show, and Vanessa brought her brilliance to the stage, playing the George Scammell piano and adding her signature musical genius to the night.
The theatre was spectacular, and the committee treated us like royalty. It’s nights like this that remind me why we do what we do. Six String Stories isn’t just about music – it’s about sharing stories from my career, the laughs, the unexpected moments, and now, the magic of playing alongside Vanessa as we create new memories together.
Returning to Yarram with Vanessa, seeing her family and friends there, and feeling the community’s support made the night truly unforgettable. It was a celebration of music, love, and home. A night I – and I’m sure everyone in the audience – will never forget.
