The Bridge Local News: Six String Stories – something special

Craig McLachlan and Dave Williams ham it up on The Regent Theatre Stage

Yarram were treated to something special at the Regent Theatre last night (Saturday Nov 9).

Nearly 300 people got to hear the amazingly talented Vanessa Scammell return to the Regent Theatre Stage, sit down at the Grand Piano which is named after her late Uncle George whose love and commitment to the theatre was legendary, and play the theme song of ‘The Man from Snowy River’.

A sight to behold - the incredible Vanessa Scammell playing ‘The Man From Snowy River’ on the
grand piano named in honour of her late Uncle George Scammell.

This along was well worth the price of the ticket it was spine tingling stuff,. It deserved a standing ovation (it got one from me).

But I regress – this show was Craig McLachlan’s Six String Stories with his mate Dave Williams.

And what a show it was – it had it all – loads of laughs and incredible music.

Craig was the main act, making us all feel like his friends sitting around sings songs we all remembered so well. His best mate Dave showcasing his versatility, and when Craig introduced Yarrams own Vanessa and dad Cliff it was the icing on the cake of a truly great show that those who attended will be talking about for sometime.

Craig McLachlan charmed the Regent Theatre audience with his warmth and quick wit.
