Craig’s sci-fi role
An indie sci-fi film starring Craig McLachlan has been picked up by Stan and Nine.
Restoration is set in a future where people can have their memories downloaded for backup. Oliver Klein (Grant Cartwight) wakes up after a routine backup to find his memories have been restored into a new body.
Craig plays Andrew Majury, the head of a high-profile law firm. Nadia Townsend also stars in the film, along with Stephen Carracher and Rosie Lourde.
“We’re thrilled to have closed a deal with one of Australia’s leading free-to-air commercial television networks and with pioneering SVOD service Stan,” producer Toby Gibson says.
It will screen later this year.
Restoration was shot in Melbourne and funded by a Kickstarter campaign. It was written by Matthew Clayfield and Stuart Willis, and directed by Stuart Willis.
The producers are now developing the idea into a series.
